Fields of Study
At Marlboro you can major in anything. Or everything.
Marlboro doesn’t actually have majors—at least not in the sense you might be used to.
A “major” sounds, well, major—like a label you apply to yourself that’s hard to change. At Marlboro we expect your interests to change over time; the field of study you pursue can change too. You can combine fields, or even create new ones; it’s up to you to make the connections. As your interests (and career plans) evolve, your field of concentration can evolve as well. And you’ll be supported throughout by your faculty advisor, who will help you map out the appropriate courses, tutorials, and experiential learning.
The list below represents the general academic fields Marlboro offers. If you don’t see your interests reflected on this list, that’s OK. We encourage students to carve out an area of concentration that fits their interests, the courses we offer, and the expertise of our faculty.
