Student Exchange Opportunities

In addition to study abroad and other learning opportunities outside the United States, Marlboro students can participate in domestic exchange programs with other colleges in Vermont and across the country. These exchanges allow students to experience a different campus culture, meet new people, and take part in classes and programs that may not be offered at Marlboro. Students can apply for one- or two-semester exchanges at schools affiliated with the following networks:

Consortium for Innovative Environments in Learning

Marlboro College belongs to the Consortium for Innovative Environments (CIEL), a network of colleges and universities that share an institutional-level commitment to progressive educational practices in the Deweyian tradition. While most schools have innovative programs, often on the margins of traditional practices, CIEL schools put innovation and experimentation at the core of their mission, organization, and everyday work. Association of Vermont Independent Colleges

As a member of the Association of Vermont Independent Colleges (AVIC), Marlboro College participates in a student exchange program with 13 other private undergraduate institutions in the state. The program allows students to experience a different educational environment without leaving the United States or facing a language barrier and still graduate on time from their home institution.
